2022 Empty Bowls Dinner for a Cause
Thank you for your support of this year's event!
While we have stopped taking orders online, there will be dinners for sale at the Marshall Building (supplies are limited).
And....you can still make a financial donation and "Be part of the solution!"
- With public safety in mind due to COVID, the Placerville Annual Empty Bowls Supper was once again be a "Dinner to Go!"
- All meals will be ready for pickup at the Marshall Building at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds between 2:00 and 5:00 PM.
This Empty Bowls Fundraiser benefited:
- The Upper Room Dining Room, Placerville,
- Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference, Emergency Food Pantry Committee, El Dorado County, and
- Earth's Angels, Ghana
Because hunger does not stop for a pandemic.
Since 2020, our annual Empty Bowls Supper adapted (for the time being) to a safer "Dinner to Go" model, which keeps this popular fundraiser alive in the heart of our community.
We proudly continue to raise funds which are given to both local and international groups, addressing the issue of hunger and food insecurity.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO RESUMING OUR IN-PERSON EVENTS!
A simple meal of soup and bread.
The bowl is a tangible reminder of hunger in the world.
For more than two decades, we have organized the Empty Bowls Supper, which has grown to be a much revered annual event. The event raises funds for both local and international agencies, and provides much needed awareness of hunger-related issues. Featuring handmade bowls, good food, live music, dessert and wine, silent auction...and plenty of fun and great community spirit! In 2019, our annual event welcomed and served approximately 1,000 participants and raised $30,000. Hunger remains an issue - EVEN DURING A PANDEMIC, so beginning in 2020 we have temporarily shifted our format....but not our mission and spirit with the eat-at-home, Dinner for a Cause!
